Multimodal Teaching
**For photos or graphics, we recommend using images that display the students interacting with sensory play, multimodal exercises, props and engaging with each other.**
Caption 1: We don't rely solely on talking and demonstrating for our students and the reason we don't is because of two words: multimodal teaching.
This concept means complementing the objectives of an exercise with the right props, music or artwork.
Teaching fluid arms? Use a soft floaty scarf to replicate the feeling. Doing an exercise in passé or retiré? Show a photo of a flamingo and ask your students to match the picture.
Multimodal teaching doesn't have to be boring or hard. It's creative and imaginative, and we've seen firsthand how it benefits for our students' technique and artistry.

Caption 2: Multimodal teaching is just one of the many features that sets our Leap 'N Learn foundation apart from the rest.
We're not just about teaching kids dance - we're about education. And that extends far beyond the four walls of the studio.
Clever, intentional use of a wide range of resources amplifies the depth of learning and creates meaningful connections. It's all about capitalizing on children's natural curiosity in as many ways as possible.

Sights, sounds, textures, smells... sensory play helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language, fine motor skills and coordination.
With a Leap 'N Learn curriculum, our teachers are trained to use multimodal teaching methods to encourage learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity.
