Month 4: Exploring Classical Ballets – Swan Lake

'Exploring Classical Ballets' is all about bringing the magic of stage productions into the dance class. Capitalizing on the wonder of canonical ballet works, this new monthly objective will close the gap between the relatively discrete and disconnected exercises in early childhood dance classes and the professional world of dance.

By bringing the spectacle of full-scale ballet production into the classroom, we make visible the steps, movements, and concepts that build ballet and we show how movements are theatricalized to tell stories and convey meaning.
