Please refer to the first part to this game for the lesson instructions. As your students master the first part of the skip gallop game, have them try adding arm movements with the following variations, which increase in difficulty. Please note that variations 2, 3, and 4 are challenging and will work best with students ages 7 and up. My adult classes loved this exercise as much as the kids did!
Add arm movements with these variations...
- Swing arms in opposition to the legs and change on every skip and freeze on every gallop. Arms are moving naturally in allongé.
- Change allongé to rounded 3rd middle.
- Change rounded 3rd middle to 3rd high.
- Alternate 3rd middle and 3rd high with every arm movement.
